Our
Faith
The Statement of Faith of Danwa Chinese Baptist Church subscribes
to the doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith and Message
as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 1963.
We
believe the Holy Bible is the God's Word, consisting
of the sixty six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the
inspired and infallible Word of God, the complete revelation
of His will for the salvation of man, and the Divine and final
authority for Christian faith and life.
We
believe in the One, true, eternal and living God,
self-existing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit. He is the God of all creation, revelation,
salvation and the final judgement.
We
believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son
of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin
Mary; that in Him perfect humanity and deity is found in person,
he is the only mediator between God and man; that He was crucified
on the cross and His blood was shed for the sins of all mankind,
He was bodily raised from the dead on the third day, ascended
into heaven and will return in power and glory to judge the
world both the living and the dead.
We
believe in Holy Spirit. He convicts the world of
sin, and works in lives of believers as a comforter, sanctifier
and an enabler.
We
believe every person without Christ stands condemned
as a sinner. When they die, they will enter into the endless,
conscious punishment of eternal fire. Their only hope is to
repent, turn in faith to Jesus Christ alone for Salvation.
We
believe every Christian has been justified by grace
alone through faith alone because of Christ alone. Having
been brought into union with Christ through faith, every sin
has been forgiven and Christ's perfect righteousness has been
credited to their account.
We
believe our church is to be an assembly of Christians,
who honor and obey their heavenly Father, by following the
example of Christ, who gave up His life for the benefit of
others and the salvation of sinners.
We
believe Baptism is God's command for all who believe
to be baptized as a public testimony of faith. The mode of
baptism we practice is immersion. We believe the Lord's
Supper is the Christ-ordained means by which we
remember His death for our salvation. As well as a continuing
reminder, it is also a continuing celebration of our communion
(fellowship) with Christ and with other believers in the unity
of His body.
